The New Inn (like the Red Lion) is a Pubmaster run Public House.  It came under threat of closure a couple of years ago when Pubmaster tried to turn it into houses. The local council turned down the necessary permissions and since then the pub has seemed "rejuvenated" with very good value food, excellent ales (Greene King IPA, Adnams Southwold Bitter and Batemans XB on last visit!!) and local banter.
